Sometimes things just come
together easily; This particular styled photo shoot was not one of those
things! With a dress mishap just two days before the shoot, and an impending
winter storm when we were set to shoot outside, things seemed to be working
against us. Luckily, with the help of these remarkable vendors, everything fell
into place. What happened next was breathtaking! The inspiration behind this
styled bridal shoot was eclectic. We wanted to keep the look classic, but weave
in elements of modern glam and wedding trends, putting a spin on traditional
style.
We shot in a historical
fire station, which is being turned into a wedding venue in the heart of
Houston. The building is raw, with exposed brick and dark staircase; Mix that with a mirrored table scape, a
stunning cake, trees with hanging globes and garland, contemporary seating, not
to mention a dazzling couple, and viola – pure magic!
We mixed white, black,
and gold to really make the cake and flowers stand out, and used mirrored
tables with a worn gold rim to add a touch of trend to our glam styling. We
also pulled in a contemporary lounge area, with studded furniture pieces and
high back chairs in a white wash color, which made the blush colored Monique
Lhuillier gown dazzle. Our favorite furniture piece was an antique gold framed
tufted wall. There were features of gold and yellows through the flowers that
complimented the darker and more modern black as well as the exposed brick
inside the venue.
Some details from the bride and groom: Milano Exchange nailed the crisp and classic look that Nate was wearing, with adding a pop of jazz to his tie. Adorne Artistry fabulously complimented the bridal gown and Lindsay with their soft up do, and terrific makeup.
We loved compiling the
features of this shoot, and having the chance to mix differing looks, using
elements of classic and modern to compliment each other.
Jeff Richards with Green Leaf Films compiled this outstanding video of the day - so talented!! Check it out here.
Some fabulous outtakes from this fun day!
A special THANK YOU to Kori at Motley Mélange for amazing images!
